On July 22, 2023, In The Bag Productions and Ego Trip boarded BagTrip Airlines for FLIGHT, a sonic expedition in Balboa Park’s Smithsonian-affiliated San Diego Air & Space Museum, which hadn’t been activated for an electronic music event in nearly a decade.
For the night, the museum was available exclusively to FLIGHT passengers who could navigate the museum’s aviation and space exploration exhibits and ride rollercoaster-like Flight Simulators. Inside the inner atrium, which hangs with aircraft from the 1920s to1940s, a stellar lineup of DJs took passengers on an expedition of dreamy soundscapes and turbulent tunes.
Guests looked fly in themed costumes while exploring interactive installations including Vibe Check, a comedic airport security set up; Emotional Baggage Check, a station to write down traumas on baggage tags and send them to far-off destinations; and Sky Lounge, an intimate den filled with fluffy pillows and storm clouds for passengers to converse and cuddle under.
